According to the North Carolina Department of Non-Public Education, over 68,000 students currently are home-schooled, as opposed to only 34,000 students at the turn of the century (2000-2001). Over 94,000 students attend private schools in North Carolina. These numbers show an unquestionably high demand among our citizens for more educational choice.
